BJP chief Nadda attacks Cong on China relations | India News

BHOPAL: BJP national president Jagat Prasad Nadda on Thursday hit out at the Congress with a strong political allegation that Chinese are funding the old party. Nadda said in 2005-06 the People’s Republic of China embassy gave a donation of Rs 90 lakh to the Congress. Addressing Madhya Pradesh Jan Samvad virtual rally, he said the country wants to know how much money was given to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and what studies the Congress has done for the nation.
“I am amazed that in 2005-06, the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation received Rs 90 lakh from the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese Embassy. After this Foundation advocated free trade through research and took it forward. This is the secret relationship between the Congress and China,” said Nadda addressing party workers and public in Madhya Pradesh Jan Samvad rally.
The BJP president’s charge comes in the midst of a verbal spat between the ruling party and the Congress over the Ladakh standoff and the handling of the coronavirus situation in the country. Making a blistering attack on the Congress Nadda further said that Congress should come clear on the matter.
“The country wants to know how much money was given to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and what studies the Congress party has done for the country. The reality of Congress exposes many forms of corruption,” he alleged.
The BJP president also mentioned that Rajiv Gandhi Foundation’s chairperson is Sonia Gandhi and its members are Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram, Rahul Gandhi. “It was Congress who took donations from China, made a settlement with the Communist party of China, also surrendered before the China and now teaching a lesson of patriotism. After all what these people are pretending to be,” he said.
Continuing his tirade, Nadda said, “I strongly condemn the low level of politics that Congress has played on Galwan valley issue and tried to mislead the country. During 2017 Doklam standoff, when our brave soldiers were confronting Chinese soldier on the borders, Rahul Gandhi was secretly holding talks with China’s Ambassador to India in Delhi.”
He said the information about the meeting was kept secret from the country by the Congress, but the Chinese Embassy released the photos. It was due to the fault of one family, India lost 43,000 km of terrain. They have no moral right to speak on country’s security, added Nadda.
The BJP president also recalled the Emergency declared by the Congress party in 1975 and said that the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi 45 years ago was the biggest hit on the democracy of the country when Indira Gandhi kept 1.40 lakh people in jail without any reason for violating democratic values.
Highlighting the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government, Nadda said that Modi has given a new direction and vision to the development of the country through Rs 20 lakh crore self-reliant India campaign and 1.70 lakh crore poor welfare scheme. He said 24 districts of Madhya Pradesh are also connected with Rs 50,000 crore Garib Kalyan Rozgar Yojana and 25000 migrant laborers will be provided employment in each district.
“In true sense, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done so much during the last six years which was not done even during the last six decades. All problems were solved which could have never imagined whether it was abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, abolishing triple talaq, paving the way for Shri Ram Temple or implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA),” he said.
Praising Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led state government, the BJP chief said that
Madhya Pradesh’s fight against Corona under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been commendable. He has overcome Covid-19 to a great extent in a very short time and Indore is an example.
He said BJP workers have presented a unique example of public service at the time of lockdown. During Covid-19 outbreak, ‘Jan Seva’ (public service) is the organization for the BJP. The party has decided to convey the message of Prime Minister Modi to 100 million families across the country.
Nadda also praised former union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who has recently recovered from corona infection, and said that Scindia has shown the courage to take bold decisions. “One needs courage to take bold decisions in politics and to stand up with the right conclusions, which Jyotiraditya Scindia has shown. He always stood with the truth. I assure Scindia that in BJP he will always feel that he has come to the right place,” said Nadda.
BJP leaders Thawar Chand Gehlot and Narendra Singh Tomar joined the virtual rally at New Delhi while, chief minister Chouhan, state chief VD Sharma, national general secretary Kailash Vijayavargiya, vice-president Prabhat Jha among others were present at the party office. BJP claimed that more than one crore people from all over the country were connected with the virtual rally through various digital platforms.
