NEW DELHI: Making a strong pitch for digital transactions, especially in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, PM Modi on Wednesday said that the government is working on an online delivery platform for street vendors on the lines of big restaurants and also to enable them in “digital shop-keeping”.
During a virtual interaction with street vendors of MP, the PM said beneficiaries of the SVANidhi scheme will be linked based on their eligibility to other schemes like Ujjwala and Ayushman Bharat.
Lauding the scheme, home minister Amit Shah said it is the result of the PM’s “far-sighted vision”. “PMSVANidhi is, in the times of Covid, helping crores of poor regain their livelihoods. This is playing a key role in making small businesses ‘atma nirbhar’ and in realisation of a New India,” he tweeted.
